Tata Motors Forgot to Launch These 5 Cars in India!

The Cars That Got Away: Tata's Unreleased Indian Lineup

By:

We know that businesses show off concept vehicles at events like Auto Expo to generate enthusiasm among their customers. Some of these models make it into production, while others are rejected. That being said, let us have a look at several Tata Cars that were displayed but never launched!

Tata Cars Which Never Launched: Tata Racemo.

Tata Motors unveiled the TaMo Racemo in 2017, and it was ready to reach Indian roads. However, the plan was discarded due to the automaker’s financial difficulties, which forced the original idea to remain on paper. The vehicle sports a conventional race car appearance, with scissor doors and a futuristic interior. The vehicle debuted with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine (186 bhp and 210 Nm) paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Tata Prima Sedan

The next Tata car to remain in the drawing room is the Prima sedan. The vehicle was expected to be a high-end sedan for the Indian brand. At the time of its debut, the new vehicle would have competed with the Toyota Corolla Altis, Honda Civic, and other premium sedans on the Indian market. The Prima concept model appeared ahead of its time, with a lengthy wheelbase and a coupe-style profile.

Tata Cars Which Never Launched – Tata Blackbird

We are all aware that the Tata Curvv came into existence as a result of the scrapping of the Tata Blackbird. The Blackbird SUV was originally planned to compete with the Hyundai Creta. However, for this SUV, the Indian automaker planned to collaborate with a Chinese business named ‘Cherry’. However, due to geopolitical difficulties between the two countries, the agreement was terminated, therefore killing the ‘Blackbird’ project.

Tata EVision

The next vehicle on the list is Tata Motors’ EVision, a luxurious and futuristic sedan. The concept for this car was initially unveiled during the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. However, this premium car was later discontinued due to internal issues. The model was then built on the OMEGA platform and supported by JLR models. The car was displayed with a futuristic look and futuristic features, which drew everyone’s attention.

Tata Cars Which Never Launched – Tata Nano Pixel

The Tata Nano Pixel was the most recent product to fail to reach production. The vehicle debuted at the 2011 Geneva International Motor Show and earned a lot of great attention for being a futuristic city car. The model was intended for the European market. However, due to safety regulations and restrictions, the vehicle never made it to the streets. The two-door hatchback’s small dimensions and tight turning circle made it ideal for navigating the heavily congested city street. Other notable features of the car featured scissor doors that rotate upwards and a rear engine arrangement with seating for up to four people.
